The couple, who have been separated for 21 years, were acquitted by Chief Justice N.V. The game was reunited

Chief Justice of India N.V. Raman tried to reunite his wife by explaining in Telugu to Chilo Chatri to unite the couple who had been quarreling for two decades. The couple has been living separately in Andhra Pradesh since 2001. But the husband supported his wife and son financially.

He continued to provide them with financial assistance even though the husband was convicted in a criminal case committed by his wife. The husband was working in the revenue department of the Andhra government while the wife was a housewife. After they separated in 2001, the wife lodged a police complaint against her husband.

The husband was sentenced to one year in prison by a Guntur trial court in 2006. However, the High Court stayed his jail sentence. Meanwhile, the wife went to the family court and claimed alimony, following which the husband started giving alimony to her from 2008. In 2010, after the High Court commuted her husband's jail term, she filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking an extension of her husband's jail term.

In 2012, the Supreme Court tried to mediate but to no avail. Recently Chief Justice Raman tried to mediate. A bench comprising Chief Justice Raman, Justice AS Bopanna and Justice Suryakant asked the lawyers to have their clients present through video conferencing.

The couple appeared on Wednesday but did not speak English, the official language of the Supreme Court. Chief Justice Raman started explaining to his wife in Telugu without any hesitation. He informed the wife of the consequences of her husband's imprisonment and gave her proper advice.

The Chief Justice then asked the couple if they wanted to be together again, to which both agreed. The bench noted in its order that they had agreed to stay together and asked them to guarantee this meaning in a fortnight. Advocate D Ramakrishna Reddy, who is fighting her husband's case, said that the Chief Justice had resolved the humanitarian issue by adopting a humane approach.
