The businessman who bought tickets with Jeff Bezos for Rs 205 crore to go into space will no longer travel to space. Instead, a 15-16 year old student has the opportunity to go into space with Bezos. Bezos will travel to space on July 20.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos will travel to space on July 20 aboard the Blue Origin's New Shepherd rocket. A total of four people, including Bezos, will travel to space. It featured an online auction for Jeff Bezos' brother Mark Bezos, a female pilot Valley, and a fourth person.
It was decided to give a ticket to the highest bidder. As part of this, a businessman had made a bid of Rs 206 crore. Although Blue Origin did not give further details about the businessman, it was now clear that the man would not go into space with Bezos. He is said to have avoided traveling because the date of the space flight did not suit him. Instead, Oliver Damon, a 15-16 year old physics student, will travel to space with Bezos.
According to Blue Origin, Oliver's father is president of an investment management firm. Oliver will become the world's first astronaut to spend the money he gets.
Blue Origin informed Oliver about the space trip just a week ago. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Her father is said to have funded the ticket.
