Southern actor Vijay fined for not paying luxury car tax

New Delhi: Southern film star Thalapati Vijay has come under fire from the High Court for not paying tax on his luxury car Rolls-Royce. Vijay is currently in a difficult situation following the nine-year-old case of buying his luxury car Rolls Roy Ghost. The Madras High Court has fined him Rs one lakh.

Vijay is accused of ordering a luxury car from London in 2012. He did not pay tax on the car, for which the High Court fined him Rs one lakh.

Thalapati Vijay imported a Rolls Roy car from England in 2012. At the time, Vijay had appealed to the Madras High Court seeking relief in the entry tax levied on him. Now, nine years later, the High Court has rejected Starr's appeal, saying he is evading taxes.

In these circumstances, the court has imposed a fine of Rs one lakh on Thalapati Vijay for non-payment of taxes. Judge SM Subramaniam rejected Vijay's plea, saying he had millions of fans. All these fans consider film stars as their role models or heroes. In a state like Tamil Nadu, even a film star has become the Chief Minister. In these circumstances he is not only expected to appear as the hero of the reel. Tax evasion should be considered anti-national thinking and mentality.

Judge SM Subramaniam termed the non-payment of taxes by Vijay as an unconstitutional move. Vijay's Rolls-Royce car is considered one of his most important assets. The estimated cost of the car ranges from Rs 6.95 crore to Rs 7.95 crore. He also has many expensive cars.
