LOS ANGELES: The number of new Corona cases has doubled every day in the past three weeks, after months of decline in the US. On the one hand the delta variant is spreading rapidly and on the other hand the vaccination rate is declining.

There were 23,600 new cases of corona on Monday, compared to 11,300 new cases of corona on June 2, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The number of new cases of corona has been steadily rising over the fortnight in the states of Maine and South Dakota. The US currently kills an average of 260 people a day with corona.
