Relief: Court rooms will resound with lawyers' arguments Judges will return to Supreme Court complex

New Delhi, 7 July 2021 Saturday

The Koro epidemic has been rampant in the country for the last one and a half years. Hence court hearings were also being held through video conferencing. Now the grip of the epidemic has loosened a bit. As a result, the court is now preparing to hear the case again. After about a year and a half, the physical court is about to start again in the Supreme Court. Once again lawyers in the Supreme Court will argue before a judge in the courtroom.

Not only has the Supreme Court appealed to lawyers to be part of the physical hearing, the Supreme Court on Friday ordered lawyers to come to court and make arguments as a judicial order in a case.

The bench of Justice L Nageshwar Rao and Justice S Ravindra Bhatt made the remarks while hearing an appeal in a criminal case related to Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The bench has asked the lawyers of both the parties in the case to come to the court for arguments at the next hearing in three weeks. Lawyers for both parties have also been prepared for physical arguments.

"Sometimes we have to start a physical argument," Justice Rao said. One day we will have to go back to normalcy. The time has come for the physical court to be started when almost all the judges of the Supreme Court have been vaccinated against corona.

Now the situation is changing. We must now revert to our old ways. It may be noted that since March 8 last year, the Supreme Court has been hearing various cases in a virtual manner.

It is known that the lawyers have repeatedly demanded the resumption of the physical court, but this was not possible due to the increasing transition of the corona. After the summer vacation, almost all the judges of the Supreme Court are now sitting in the courtroom and hearing the case. However the arguments are being made by virtual methodology.
