Rahul Gandhi is being used as a 'pawn': BJP

New delhi date. 3

The BJP has retaliated against the opposition in response to Congress' allegations on the issue of alleged corruption in the Rafal deal. Senior BJP leader Sambit Patra on Saturday alleged that Rahul Gandhi was acting as an agent for rival defense companies and was being used as a 'pawn'.

The BJP also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who had been opposing the BJP government from the outset over the Rafal deal. Sambit Patra said that the Congress was making allegations of corruption in the Rafal deal to weaken the BJP. Describing the appointment of a judge to investigate corruption in the Rafale deal in France as normal, Patra said the probe was following an NGO complaint. He cannot be said to have been corrupt in the deal.

Sambit Patra accused the Congress of spreading lies and misconceptions. Patra alleged that the Gandhi family did not get any commission in the Rafal deal. So his party is making these alleged allegations. Patra added that both the CAG and the Supreme Court in India found nothing wrong with the raffle deal between the Indian and French governments. Both organizations have denied the congressional allegations.
