The second wave of corona virus in the country has slowed down but there are also some states where corona cases are increasing very fast. At the same time, the corona vaccination campaign in the country has intensified since June 21. So far, more than 340 million people in the country have been vaccinated. There are several states in the country where daily corona cases are declining and there has also been a relaxation of corona restrictions. Corona's second wave may have slowed down, but the possibility of a third possible wave is a matter of concern.

One dose affects the risk of death

According to a study by PJI Chandigarh, the risk of death among those who have taken both doses of the vaccine in the country has been reduced by 98 per cent. The risk of death is reduced by 92 percent in those who receive a single dose of the vaccine. The report was discussed by Dr. VK Paul, a member of the Policy Commission.

The government is constantly emphasizing on the process of vaccination. Apart from that many cases of Delta Plus variant are still coming up in the country. However, India's indigenous vaccine Covexin is 78 per cent effective against the Delta Plus variant, which is a relief.

More than 4 lakh people in the country have lost their lives due to corona so far. After the US and Brazil, India is the only country where the death toll from covid has crossed 4 lakh.
