Suspicious drones have once again been spotted in Jammu and Kashmir. Suspected drones were spotted in 3 different areas in the Jammu region on Thursday. The drones were spotted between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Two of those drones were spotted near Army Camp and ITBP Camp. Security forces opened fire on them, but all three drones escaped.

A drone was reportedly spotted near the international border in Samba. The second was found near the ITBP camp near Ghagwal in Samba district and the third near the army camp in Bari area of Samba district. The suspected drone fired several shots at the international border by the BSF but escaped and then disappeared.

The drone attack failed

Earlier on July 23, Jammu and Kashmir police shot down a drone carrying 5 kg of explosives (IEDs) from an area adjacent to the Jammu district border. The drone had about 5 kg of IED material in an almost ready state with only the wires left to connect before the explosion.

It was a 6-wheeled Hexa-M-Copper drone. It also had GPS and a flight control device. Police say he prevented a possible IED explosion. The wires of the IED to be taken down from the drone matched the explosives found at the airport of the Jammu Air Force station. This suggests that the drone was used to throw IEDs at the Jammu airbase. There were 2 blasts at the air base late last month.
