Internet down: Apps including Zomato, Paytm and Disney Hotstar shut down, find out details

Some internet-based services like Paytm, Zomato, Disney Hotstar, Sony Live and Play Station Network went down on Thursday evening. This problem arose in front of users all over the world including India. The reason behind this is not clear. But, it is being said that this is due to the Akamai web infrastructure.

Internet infrastructure provider Akamai Technologies has confirmed it is facing problems. "We are actively investigating this," the company said. The problem arose around 8.55pm on Thursday night, which reached a massive scale in just five minutes, according to the Internet Outage Tracker Downdetector.

Paytm said in a tweet that the global outage in Akamai would affect some services. We are working to resolve this. There, Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal, citing the same reasons in a tweet, said that our app is down and our team is constantly working to deliver all orders on time.
