India's Co-Win Technology Platform Available Free to All Countries: Modi

PM addresses Covin Global Conclave via video conferencing

New Delhi: India's Kovid Vaccination-Covin technology platform is being made open source. It will soon be available to all countries.

Addressing the Covin Global Conclave via video conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi added that India is committed to leveraging its expertise and resources to benefit the world community.

Experience has shown that no nation, no matter how powerful, can handle an epidemic like the Corona alone. From the very beginning of the epidemic in this war, India has been committed to sharing its experience, skills and resources with the people of the world. Despite our many limitations we have tried to do so.

The Prime Minister said that technology was involved in India's approach to fighting Corona, adding that fortunately software was an area where there was no shortage of resources. So we've kept our Corona app open source since it became technically possible.

About 50 countries, including Canada, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama and Uganda, have expressed interest in using India's Technology Forum-Covin for covid vaccination to manage vaccination campaigns there, said Dr. R.S. Sharma said recently. India will provide the benefits of this open-source platform free of cost, he added.
