India was offered 75 lakh doses of Moderna vaccine

New Delhi, 20 July 2021 Tuesday

India has been offered 75 lakh doses of the modern Covid-19 vaccine under the Covex Global Vaccine Sharing Program, but it is not clear when the dosage will come to the country as there is still a long way to go before a consensus can be reached on a non-harmful clause.

The government said last week that it was in active contact with vaccine manufacturer Modernna to make the modern vaccine available in the country. India's Drug Enforcement Agency last month approved the state-of-the-art Corona vaccine with Emergency Use Authorization status.

Dr. VK Pol, a member of the Policy Commission (Health), said recently that the two sides were discussing the provisions of the agreement for the modern vaccine in the country, and that efforts were being made to conclude it soon. Now they are expected to contact us at any time. The ball is currently in M's court on some issues, which we will take forward.
