India beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets, captain Dhawan's unbeaten 86 runs

India and Sri Lanka have won the first ODI of the three-match ODI series in Colombo. The Indian team has beaten Sri Lanka by 7 wickets, with Shikhar Dhawan's captaincy leading India to a 1-0 lead in the series. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat. Batting first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka were 262 for nine. India achieved the target at a loss of 3 wickets in 36 overs. Dhawan returned after winning by 86 runs. The Indian team had a great start. Debutant Ishan Kishan and Captain Dhawan put on a superb fifty. India won with 14 overs to spare.

Prithvi Shaw and Ishaan Kish laid the foundation for the victory. Which was succeeded by Captain Shikhar Dhawan. Indian batsmen played an aggressive game from the start.

Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and elected to bat first. Sri Lanka scored 262 for 9 in the first ODI. Chamika Karunaratne, who came down to No. 8, scored the most unbeaten 43 runs. From Team India, left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and fast bowler Deepak Chahar took two wickets each. Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya also got one wicket each. Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar could not take a single wicket.
