The number of cases with Corona's new 2,31,744 is 187,051,331

A total of 40,38,460 deaths worldwide with more than 3441 deaths from corona: Cases in Indonesia rushing for oxygen

LONDON: Vaccination is on the rise around the world, but cases of delta variants are also on the rise. The total number of corona cases in the world today is 187,051,331, with 2,31,744 new cases being reported.

The death toll in Corona rose to 40,38,460, with 3441 deaths. Particularly in Russia, the UK, Japan and Indonesia, the number of new cases of corona has risen again.

UK health officials said there was a 32 per cent increase in corona cases compared to last week. However, hospitalization and mortality have not increased as much. There were 54,268 new cases of corona reported in the UK on Friday.

The chief executive of the UK Health Security Agency, Dr. Jenny Harris said the death toll has not risen in proportion to the number of new cases because corona vaccine recipients are being protected against the delta variant. However, he added that the vaccine provides good protection but does not provide 100 per cent protection.

The shortage of oxygen has been exacerbated by a sharp rise in the number of cases of corona in Indonesia, which aided India with thousands of bottles of oxygen just two months ago.

A total of more than 2.4 million cases of corona have been reported in Indonesia, and 63,760 people have died from corona infections. A total of 39,000 new cases of corona were reported in Indonesia in a single day on Thursday. Temporary ICUs were set up in mid-June on Java, Indonesia's most populous island.

Many patients have to wait for days to be admitted. Patients are advised to buy oxygen at their own expense as there is a shortage of oxygen at present. The deputy mayor of Bandung city said the scarcity was due to people buying large quantities of oxygen cylinders even though they did not need them.
