In the presence of the captain, Sidhu took over as the Punjab Congress president

A temporary break in the dispute between Amarinder Singh and Sidhu

Three Congress workers attending Sidhu's program were killed in a bus accident and 40 others were injured

Amritsar: Navjot Singh Sidhu took over as Punjab Congress president on Friday. He was greeted by the present Chief Minister of Punjab Capt. Amarinder Singh. "We will work together in the interest of Punjab," he said. In Punjab, Sunil Zakhar was the President of the Punjab Congress and his post has now been taken over by Sidhu.

Captain Amarinder Singh was also present at the function held at the party headquarters. Along with Sidhu, four other working presidents also took charge. Navjot Singh Sidhu, 57, and Captain Amarinder Singh were at loggerheads, with Sidhu also making some criticisms of the Punjab government's performance. Following which, the captain's supporters demanded an apology from Sidhu.

However, Sidhu continued his allegations. Suddenly, the High Command handed over the post of Punjab President to Sidhu. While in office, Sidhu was also in the mood for cricket and joked about hitting sixes from the stage.

There is speculation that his dispute with the captain has now been put to rest by handing over the post of Punjab president to Sidhu. Assembly elections are going to be held in Punjab in 2022. "I will work closely with Captain Amarinder Singh," Sidhu said in his speech after taking over as president.

On the other hand, there are reports that a bus carrying some activists and ordinary passengers, which was on its way to attend Congress President Sidhu's function, crashed, killing three people and injuring more than 40 others.

The accident took place on Moga Amritsar Road. There are reports that the three people who were killed were Congress activists and were going to Sidhu’s program. Meanwhile, Mon was observed at Sidhu's program to pay homage to the deceased.
