Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh besieged, FIR filed in Rs 15 crore bribery case


- Former Commissioner of Police Parambir Singh himself had leveled serious allegations against former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh for recovering Rs 100 crore.

An FIR has been lodged against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh. Apart from Parambir, the FIR also names other Mumbai Police officers. The complaint is based on a builder's complaint alleging bribery of Rs 15 crore.

The FIR has been lodged at the Marine Drive police station. The complainant builder alleges that Rs 15 crore was demanded from him in return for settling some of the cases and complaints registered against him.

Apart from former Mumbai commissioner Parambir Singh, the FIR also names five other policemen and two civilians. This means that the FIR has been registered in the name of a total of 8 people. One of the police personnel named in the FIR is a DCP in the Mumbai Police Crime Branch unit. While other policemen are posted in different units of the Crime Branch at the rank of Inspector.

The two citizens named in the case have been arrested. However, no police personnel have been arrested so far.

Former police commissioner Parambir Singh himself had leveled serious allegations against former home minister Anil Deshmukh for recovering Rs 100 crore. His allegation caused an earthquake in Maharashtra politics and even Anil Deshmukh had to resign as Maharashtra Home Minister. Parambir Singh also lost his seat in the whole controversy. Now a builder has made a serious allegation that he has demanded Rs 15 crore for settling the case and complaint against Parambir Singh.
