Following the elections in five states, a new face in the Modi cabinet may get a chance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet is expected to expand in the next three days. Cabinet expansion could lead to the dismissal of several ministers who have performed poorly. New faces may get a chance in the run-up to elections in five states next year. At the center, 21 ministers can be made and at present the government has 4 ministers, which means it can include 6 ministers. Half a dozen cabinet ministers have more than one ministry responsibility. The Prime Minister is considering reducing his responsibilities.

At present, there are eight ministers in the Modi government who have more than one department, including Prakash Javadekar, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Nitin Gadkari, Harshvardhan, Narendrasinh Tomar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Smriti Irani and Hardipsinh Puri. According to sources, the Modi cabinet will undergo a major reshuffle in two years, including the sacking of several ministers who have performed poorly. According to sources, 30-3% of the cabinet faces may change. There are currently 21 ministers in the cabinet, which could increase. In addition, there are nine independent in-charges and six are ministers of state. Their number may also increase.

Among the possible ministers are Sarvanand Sonowal and Jyotiraditya Scindia. With elections in Uttar Pradesh, five ministers are likely to be made from there, including Varun Gandhi, Ramshankar Kathiria, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Anil Jain and Zafar Islam.

Among the BJP leaders preparing for a reshuffle in the Modi cabinet are Ajay Bhatt or Anil Baluni from Uttarakhand, Pratap Sinha from Karnataka, Jagannath Sarkar from West Bengal, Shantanu Thakur or Nisith Pramanik, Brajendra Singh from Haryana, Rahul Kaswan from Rajasthan Names are also being discussed. The list of potential ministers may also include Parvesh Verma or Meenakshi Lekhi from Delhi.

Nitish Kumar's JD-U is still vying for a seat in the Modi cabinet. In fact, the JDU wants the same share as the BJP. There could be five BJP ministers from Bihar. If the JD-U, which supports the government from outside, agrees, Lallan Singh, Ramnath Thakur and Santosh Kushwaha are likely to be given ministerial posts. Pashupati Paras from LJP can be made Union Minister. The names of Anupriya Patel, Sushil Modi, Narayan Rane and Bhupendra Yadav from his party are also being discussed.
