Five lakh currency notes missing from printing press in Nashik, security agencies sleep deprived


New Delhi, July 13, 2021

An annoying incident of disappearance of Rs 5 lakh from a printing press in Nashik while printing Indian currency notes has come to light.

This printing press is considered to be one of the safest places in the country and the theft in it has put the security agencies to sleep.

At present, the printing press, the system and the police are silent on the matter. The currency note printing press in Nashik prints thousands of crores of rupees worth of currency notes every year. The press played an important role.

Although the intelligence agencies had been investigating the disappearance of Rs 5 lakh notes for the past few days, the case came to light when the matter reached the police station through the press. No statement has been issued by the police.
