Don't wander your children to get political position: Supreme

Solapur corporator disqualified due to third child

The Supreme Court upheld the Bombay High Court's decision to cancel the election of Shiv Sena corporator Anita Magar, who was elected to the Solapur Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra.

In Maharashtra, if there are more than two children, they cannot contest the by-elections. Rejecting Anita Magar's plea, the court said, "You wanted to be elected as a corporator, so you have registered your child." Crocodile challenged the ruling in the Supreme Court.

Anita Magar told the apex court in her appeal that she has only two biological children and the third child is not hers, but hers. He also requested the court to intervene in the matter as the question now arises as to who are the parents of the third child.

Crocodile's lawyer said the birth certificate of this third child contains the names of different couples as his parents. But since the High Court considered us as the parents of this child, there is a need to reconsider the protection of the child in this case. Bunch said the situation is caused by your eagerness to be a corporator.

This child has been identified as your child at school. The birth certificate has since been amended in accordance with the legal provisions. There is nothing that we can do to help you. The High Court had on May 24 upheld the judgment of the civil court setting aside the 2018 election as a crocodile corporator.
