Democracy cannot be dominated by Hindus or Muslims: Bhagwat

Mohan Bhagwat, head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), on Sunday reassured Muslims not to risk the Muslim religion in India, saying "everyone living in India has the same DNA, no matter what religion they follow." "Hindu-Muslim unity is misleading because they are not different," Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat said at an event organized by the Muslim National Forum. People cannot be discriminated against on the basis of a different method of praying.

In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, at a program organized by the Muslim National Forum on the theme 'Hindustani First, Hindustan First', RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat lashed out at the leaders, saying there were some things that politics could not do. Leaders in the country cannot unite the people. Politics cannot be a tool to unite the people, but it can be a weapon to destroy the unity of the country. He added that development in the country is not possible without unity and the basis of unity should be nationalism and the glory of ancestors. The only solution to the Hindu-Muslim conflict can be brought about through discussion, not through dissension.

"It has been proven that we are the descendants of the same ancestor for 20,000 years," he said. The DNA of the people of India is the same. The talk of unity between Hindus and Muslims is misleading. There is nothing for the two to be one. In fact they are already together. He added that there is no need for Muslims to fear that there is a crisis on the Muslim religion in our country.

We live in a democratic country. There can be no Hindu or Muslim domination here. Only Indians can dominate here. Criticizing the mob lynching in the name of cows, Bhagwat said that mob killings are anti-Hinduism. He added that if a Hindu says that no Muslim should live here, then that person is not a Hindu. The cow is a sacred animal, but those who are killing others in the crowd are anti-Hindu. The law should work against these people without any discrimination.

The union president said at the outset of his speech that he did not attend the event for any union makeover or votebank politics. The union is not in politics or it does not care about any image spread in the society. The Sangh is only working for the upliftment of the nation, strengthening the country and doing welfare work for all sections of the society.
