Delayed monsoon, the country's electricity demand peaks at 200 gigawatts

New Delhi: Demand for electricity in the country has reached an all-time high due to the delay in the monsoon. On Wednesday, the country's electricity demand was 200 gigawatts. Demand for electricity has also increased due to the removal of Corona virus. According to data released by the power ministry, the demand for electricity on Wednesday was 200 gigawatts.

Electricity demand on Tuesday stood at 197.07 gigawatts. According to experts, demand for electricity has increased due to delayed monsoon and lifting of Corona restrictions. On June 30, 2021, the demand for electricity was 191.51 gigawatts. Which was 164.98 gigawatts in June, 2020.

The highest demand for electricity in June, 2019 was 182.45 gigawatts. Power Minister RK Singh said in a tweet that at 11.43 am today, the power demand was 197060 MW. Which is an all time high surface. Earlier, on January 28, at 9.42 am, the demand for electricity was 1,88,452 MW.
