Corona's second wave is not over yet, people don't care: Center

The outbreak of the second wave of corona epidemics in the country has subsided and the daily cases of corona have come down to less than 30,000 and the daily deaths to less than 1,000. However, the central government has warned people that the second wave of Corona is not over yet. People should get vaccinated as soon as possible and follow the Corona protocol. On the other hand, the central government on Friday sent a team to Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Manipur, the six states with the highest number of daily cases of corona.

The Union Ministry of Health said on Friday that there were 4,613 cases of corona in the country on Friday while eight deaths were reported. With this, the total cases of Corona were more than 2.09 crore. As well as the total death toll crossed four lakhs. The number of patients recovering from corona in the country has risen to 4.5 crore while the death rate has risen to 1.21 per cent.

More than 2.41 crore doses of corona vaccine have been given in the country so far. Corona's active cases fell further to 2.08 lakh, or 1.6 per cent of the total cases. Corona's national recovery rate has risen to 5.01 percent. The total number of active cases of corona in the country has come down to 19.50 in the last three hours. In addition, the daily positivity rate has been below five per cent for the last three days.

Meanwhile, the central government has sent teams to the northeastern Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, Odisha and Chhattisgarh in the east and Kerala in the south due to high corona cases. These teams will monitor the status of corona in the states as well as vaccinations and operations against corona and make suggestions to the local administration. The central government has warned people not to be complacent in view of the declining cases of the Koro epidemic. Between June 6 and 7, the positivity rate of corona cases in 21 districts of the country was more than 10 per cent.

Regarding the Centre's vaccination drive, the ministry said that since June 31, an average of 3 million people have been vaccinated daily. The country has received a total of 2.41 million doses of the corona vaccine since January 15, which is equivalent to the total population of the United States. About 60 per cent of health workers and 40 per cent of frontline workers in the country have been given both doses of the corona vaccine, the health ministry said.
