Corona is still rampant in 29 districts of these two states, more than half of the country's cases are here: Ministry of Health

New Delhi, 9 July 2021 Friday

Even though the speed of new cases of corona in the country is less than 50,000 daily, the risk is still unavoidable. The second wave of Corona is still raging in some areas. Maharashtra and Kerala alone account for more than half of the country's cases, the health ministry said on Friday.

The health ministry said 14 districts in Kerala and 15 in Maharashtra were a cause for concern. Love Agarwal, joint secretary in the health ministry, said Corona's second wave was not yet complete. He said the virus is still present here. In such a case, we do not need to violate the Corona Protocol by negligence.

During a press conference on Friday, Agarwal said there was a decline in new cases across the country. In the past week, new cases of corona have dropped by 8 percent. He said 80 per cent new cases were being found in 90 districts of the country.

Stressing on adhering to the Corona Protocol, he said that we have to learn from the example of Russia, Bangladesh and Britain, where cases are once again on the rise.

Agarwal said that the Euro Cup 2021 was recently held in Britain and people were enjoying the football match. But now, once again, the pace of Corona's case has raised concerns.
