Congress and NC met Jammu and Kashmir Demarcation Commission, PDP stayed away

Appeal that the delimitation process should be transparent

Hours after PDP's announcement not to join the process, the ED summoned Mehbooba's mother.

Srinagar: The Congress and the National Conference of Jammu and Kashmir's Sruthanik Party met with the Delimitation Commission and appealed for a transparent process. The Delimitation Commission has been visiting Jammu and Kashmir since July 6. With this in mind, the two parties held a meeting.

Earlier, Ravindra Sharma, chief spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee, said that the delimitation commission had given us only one hour to speak for the seven districts of Jammu and half an hour to speak for the five districts of Kashmir, which is very little.

How can we present our case in such a short time? However, Congress and National Conference leaders met with representatives of the delimitation commission on Tuesday. And demanded that the whole process be conducted with transparency.

The delimitation process will be carried out in Jammu and Kashmir taking into account geographical location, population and other parameters. The ED, on the other hand, had summoned Gulshan Nazir, the mother of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, to be present in the money laundering case. The ED issued the summons just hours after the PDP announced its withdrawal from the delimitation process.

"My mother has been summoned to appear at the ED's office in Srinagar," Mehbooba tweeted. Reports have surfaced that government funds were deposited in Mehbooba Mufti's mother's account when the PDP was in power. The case is being investigated by the ED.
