CM Amarinder's master stroke, meeting with arch rival Pratap Singh Bajwa to stop Sidhu

New Delhi, 17 July 2021 Saturday

CM Amarinder Singh is very concerned about the growing stature of Navjot Singh Sidhu in Punjab politics. Every effort is being made by him to reduce Sidhu's activism. Now in this series, he has joined hands with arch rival Pratap Singh Bajwa. He has called Bajwa at his residence and an important meeting is going on between them. Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and former Congress leader Rana KP Singh has also joined the meeting.

There is talk in political circles that Navjot Singh Sidhu is going to get a big position in Punjab politics. He can be made the President of Punjab Congress. MLA-ministerial meetings have also started from Sidhu. This is the reason why now Captain Amarinder Singh is trying to play his last innings. They understand that Pratap Singh Bajwa is also upset with Sidhu's growing stature, so together they want to stop this big upheaval in Punjab politics now.

Amarinder and Bajwa are sending a clear message to the Congress high command that the reins of the party in Punjab should be in the hands of an old Congressman. Currently, it has been a few years since Navjot Singh Sidhu left the BJP, but still Amarinder Singh does not like being given much importance by the party high command. His resentment is such that he is seen getting ready to shake hands with each of his opponents at this time. It is being said that there are many such groups in the Punjab Congress who oppose the Chief Minister but they may come together to stop Sidhu.

How successful Amarinder Singh's strategy is now will be clear in the coming days. So far, nothing good is happening in the Punjab Congress. Harish Rawat, in-charge of Punjab, has made it clear that the Captain's Party will accept every decision of the high command, but Amarinder Singh's letter to Sonia Gandhi cannot be ignored. In the letter, the captain emphasized that forcible interference in Punjab politics could hurt the party.
