15,000 anti-terror unit personnel killed in Ladakh

New Delhi, Dt

The Indian Army has now deployed more than 12,000 anti-terrorism units along the Line of Actual Control (LOC) in the eastern Ladakh region to counter Chinese forces. The Indian Army has withdrawn the Northern Arch from internal operations and is now deployed along the Chinese border. The troops have been deployed in eastern Ladakh to counter any possible attempt by China to show aggression.

According to government sources, about 15,000 personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir-based anti-terrorism unit were deployed a few months ago to counter the Chinese aggression in the Ladakh region. Troops have been deployed in the Ladakh sector for some time and will help the 12 Corps Headquarters in Leh to effectively counter any future action by the People's Liberation Army. In view of China's aggression, the 18th Corps now has two divisions stationed in Leh, which handles the Chinese border, including the 6th Division in Karu.

Reserve formations deployed in the sugar sector are trained for high mountain warfare and war games are held every year in the cold desert region of Ladakh. The army has filled the gap created by the movement to the front position of the division using the available resources. The Indian Army has deployed more than 20,000 troops in the eastern Ladakh sector.

In eastern Ladakh, China has been maneuvering since April last year. After months of negotiations, Chinese troops have retreated at some points, but there are still many points where the two countries' armies are at loggerheads. In view of China's aggression, India has increased the number of troops on the basis of two full divisions with additional armor and other elements instead of one division.

The 18th Mountain Strike Corps of the Indian Army has received a major boost in the form of the deployment of an additional 10,000 troops to counter any act of the Chinese Army. The 13th Mountain Strike Corps is the only strike corps of the Indian Army, which is responsible for conducting offensive operations against China in case of war.

The strength of this core has been enhanced at a time when India and China have been in a tense situation for more than a year. A large number of Indian and Chinese troops have been deployed along the Line of Actual Control (LoC) after a clash with Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley. The Mathura-based One Strike Corps has also been deployed towards the northern border while an armored formation will be close to it. Apart from this, the formation and deployment of troops in the sectors has also been strengthened. Due to India's strategic operations on the south shore of Pangong Lake, the Indian army has been able to repel the Chinese army. Negotiations are now underway between the two sides to disengage and reduce tensions from other points in the region.
