Top five IT companies to create 5,000 jobs: Nasscom

Bengaluru, Dt

Reports that 3 million people will be laid off next year due to automation in India's IT sector have caused a stir. The reports were published in the name of Nasscom and Bank of America, leading IT companies. However, Nasscom said the reports were completely false and said that contrary to the reports, India's top five IT companies would create 5,000 jobs. The IT sector had recruited 1.5 lakh people in FY21.

Nasscom president Debjani Ghosh had dismissed reports that 3 million people would lose their jobs in India's IT sector by 202. "I don't know why news agencies don't check data and use the right sources to create stories," he tweeted. Indian IT companies are increasing the workforce instead of laying off employees. Not only that, we are creating new jobs in new fields like data analytics. There is a huge demand for skilled workers in the IT sector.

Nasscom said TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra are planning to hire more than 3,000 employees. Recruitment of skilled workers in the IT industry is bound to continue. In FY 2021, the sector employed 1,6,000 employees. With the development of technology and the growth of automation, the role of traditional IT jobs has changed and new jobs are being created. The IT industry also has massive recruitment plans in 207.

Nasscom added that the IT industry is enhancing the skills of more than 250,000 employees in digital skills and is recruiting more than 20,000 new digitally trained people. Nasscom said Bank of America's estimate of 4 million employees in the IT-BPM (business process management) sector is incorrect. As of March 2021, the IT-BPM sector in India had a total of 3 lakh employees.

Due to the Corona epidemic, India's top five IT services companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra in the areas of cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and 2G.

Robotic process automation will cause 3 million people to lose their jobs in India's IT sector by 203, with automation having the worst impact on the United States, where one million people will lose their jobs, a Bank of America report said. Some reports cited Nasscom's report in the news of a Rs 3 million layoff in the IT sector. However, Nasscom revealed from its official Twitter handle that no Nasscom report mentions layoffs. The IT industry will continue to create jobs.
