Question again on the planning of Tokyo Olympics, resignation of 10000 volunteers

New Delhi, June 3, 2021, Thursday

Disputes are growing between the government and the people of Tokyo over the Olympics in Japan. Most people in Japan do not want the Olympics to be held in the midst of a Corona transition.

However, an emergency has been declared in Japan following an increase in cases of corona infection. The emergency will last until June 23. Meanwhile, the difficulties of Japan's Olympic Committee are increasing. Because 10,000 people have withdrawn their names as volunteers to help organize the sport.

The Olympics were supposed to be held last year but were postponed for a year due to Corona. The Olympics are set to take place in Japan from July 23. However, the second wave of Corona has caused a stir in the world and the Olympics are under threat again. On the other hand, the Australian softball team has reached Japan to participate in the Olympics.

Uncertainties remain over planning, according to the news agency. A total of 80,000 volunteers were to serve in the Olympics but 10,000 of these have withdrawn their names. Most of them say we are concerned about Corona's transition and some say we have resigned in protest of the game's planning.

Japan's Olympic Committee says it will not affect the Games' planning. Because the level of planning will be smaller than before. We are also showing readiness to organize games without spectators.
