Promotion of Satya Nadella from India, Microsoft now makes CEO Chairman


- Former Chairman Thompson will now be the President Independent Director

Satya Nadella, the Indian-origin CEO of Microsoft, is moving up the ladder of success. Microsoft has now made him its chairman and Nadella will now replace John Thompson.

Satya Nadella became the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Microsoft in 2014. He has since been instrumental in the multibillion-dollar acquisitions of companies such as LinkedIn, Nuance Communications and ZeniMax.

Company statement

According to the company, Thompson will now be the chief independent director. In 2014, Thompson became chairman of Microsoft after Bill Gates. Microsoft founder Bill Gates is no longer on the company's board and he is focusing on the philanthropic work of Bill and Melinda Gates. The company recently decided to pay a quarterly dividend of 56 cents per share.

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, was also saddened by the devastation caused by Corona in India. He trusted and even helped in this situation.

School studies from Hyderabad

Satya Nadella was born in 1967 in Hyderabad, India. His father was an administrative officer and his mother a lecturer in Sanskrit. After getting his early education from Hyderabad Public School, he studied Electrical Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology in 1988. He was then going to America to do an MS in Computer Science. He did his MBA in 1996 from the Booth School of Business in Chicago.
