New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed preparations for tackling the flood situation in the country at a high-level meeting in New Delhi. At this meeting, the Home Minister took some decisions regarding the new coordination system of Meteorological Department, Water Power Department, CWC and NDRF.

Amit Shah reviewed long-term measures to formulate a comprehensive and important policy to mitigate the problem of floods in the country every year. Pointed out to keep.

Amit Shah proposed to the Ministry of Water Power to create a system for removing soil from large dams to help increase the capacity of dams and control floods. He directed the immediate creation of SOPs to disseminate the Indian Meteorological Department's warning of lightning through various means. Various mobile apps like Umang, Rain Alarm and Damini app should be given maximum publicity so that more and more people can take advantage of it.

The Damini app warns of lightning three hours in advance so that no loss of life or property occurs. Following the order of the Home Minister in the earlier meeting, the Central Water Commission (CWC) has started five days advance forecast of water coming into all the reservoirs of the country. It has also instructed to form a group of experts to reduce the impact of floods so as to reduce the loss of life and property.
