New Delhi: Congress leader Kapil Sibal has questioned the Congress leadership. He said the country needs a strong and credible opposition now.

It may be noted that leaders like Rahul Gandhi's one-time ally Jyotiraditya Scindia, Jitin Prasad and others have left the Congress and joined the BJP, said Kapil Sibal. After Scindia and Prasad, now Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan and Navjot Singh Sidhu in Punjab are also reported to be upset.

In it, Kapil Sibal has said that the country currently lacks a strong alternative. In an interview to PTI, Kapil Sibal admitted that there was no strong political option against the BJP at present. However, he also said that the Congress could be the current alternative as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lost his moral right to rule.

Kapil Sibal directly questioned the Congress leadership and said there was a lack of political choice in the country. The country needs a strong, credible opposition. Sibal also mentioned the need for reform in the party. He said Congress needs to show that it is active and willing to work meaningfully.

Sibal advised that India needed a revivalist Congress and the party would have to prove it. Kapil Sibal advised that the Congress needs a quick organizational election. Extensive reforms are needed at the central and state levels to show that it is no longer in a state of inertia.

There is a lack of political choice. Congress also needs to strike a balance between experience and youth. Notably, Kapil Sibal is among the leaders who wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi last year demanding reforms in the party. He is also a member of the G-23 group, which is dissatisfied with the Congress.
