India-US will conduct naval exercises in the Indian Ocean for 2 days from today

The Indian Navy will take part in a two-day comprehensive naval exercise with the US Navy's Carrier Strike Group (CSG) Ronald Reagan in the Indian Ocean region from Wednesday, highlighting the growing operational support between the two navies. This was informed by the officials.

The Indian Air Force said it would also conduct operations with the US CSG in the Indian Ocean region during exercises with the US Army.

A carrier warship or a carrier attack group is a large naval fleet consisting of an aircraft carrier. Apart from that a large number of destroyers, frigates and other ships are also included.

In addition to the Indian Navy ships Kochi and Teg, a fleet of P8I marine monitoring aircraft and a MiG-29K jet will participate in the exercise, Navy officials said.

Indian Navy spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhawal said the two-day exercise was aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation.
