BEIJING: A gas explosion in a residential area of ​​Xi'an city in central China's Hubei province's Zhangwan district around 6.30am on Sunday killed 13 people and injured more than 150 others.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a house, killing several people. Authorities rescued about 150 people from the affected area, 39 of whom were seriously injured.

He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Video footage of the crash circulating on a social media platform called Weibo Show showed rescue workers working in collapsed buildings.
