The second wave of Corona is raging in India. For the first time in two months in the country, i.e. after 3 days, the daily cases of corona have come down to less than one lakh while the daily positivity rate has come down to 7.5 per cent. Compared to the peak case of the second wave of corona epidemic in the country on May 9, the daily corona cases on Tuesday dropped by about 5 per cent. More than four lakh daily cases of corona were reported a month ago. In Bihar, meanwhile, the lockdown will be lifted from June 9, but the night curfew will remain in place. The Uttar Pradesh government has also lifted restrictions in six districts. However, the state government has maintained night curfew and weekend curfew.

The health ministry said that in the last three hours, 2.3 new cases of corona were reported in India on Tuesday, the lowest in three days. With this, the total number of cases has gone up to more than 2.5 crore. In addition, the total death toll in the last three hours rose to 2.81 lakh with a death toll of 2.18. The daily death toll is also the lowest in the last three days. Corona's active cases have also come down to 13.05 lakh, which is 4.50 per cent of the total cases, while the recovery rate has improved to 6.5 per cent. The daily positivity rate in the country has come down to 7.5 per cent. The positivity rate has been below 10 per cent for 15 consecutive days.

The ministry said that the number of patients recovering from new cases of corona for the 7th consecutive day in the country is higher. The total number of patients recovering from corona has reached 4.5 crore. The last time the country reported 21.8 cases of corona on April 2, after which the number of cases of corona began to rise, reaching a peak on May 9, when more than 2.14 lakh cases were reported daily.

Meanwhile, amid a drop in corona cases in the country, the central government on Tuesday stressed the need to avoid large gatherings for the next few months and directed people to continue to strictly adhere to the corona protocol to avoid further corona waves in the future. Love Agarwal, joint secretary in the health ministry, said the second wave of corona in the country was witnessing a sharp decline in daily cases.

As the number of corona cases is declining, Bihar has announced to remove the lockdown imposed a month ago from June 8. However, the night curfew will remain in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Announcing on social media, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the intention to implement the lockdown has been meaningful. There has been a significant reduction in corona cases in the state. From Wednesday, private offices in the state will be able to start with 90 per cent employees, while government offices will be able to start with 8 per cent employees. Uttar Pradesh has also lifted restrictions in six districts as corona cases have declined. However, night curfew as well as weekend curfew will remain the same from 6.00 pm to 8.00 am.

The third possible wave of Corona is being discussed in various media, including social media, at a high risk to children. Randeep Guleria reiterated that if we look at the data from India or the world, there is no data available yet which shows that the Koro epidemic will have a more serious impact on children in the near future. Children are still being infected with the corona, but the impact on them is minimal. There is no evidence that children will be more affected if a wave of corona occurs now.
