Dhankhad is corrupt, the name in the Jain hawala scam was: Mamta

The dispute between the Chief Minister and the Governor of West Bengal escalated

Allegations are baseless, no documents in hawala case chargesheet: Dhankhar

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made a sensational allegation against Governor Jagdeep Dhanakhade, saying the governor is a corrupt person. He was named in the 1996 Jain hawala scam.

"If you take out the chargesheet of the case, you will get the name of the governor," Banerjee said. The allegation by Mamata Didi has sparked controversy in West Bengal between the governor and the chief minister. Dhanakhade responded to Mamata Banerjee's allegation.

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhanakhade had denied the allegations in the Jain hawala case. Dhanakhade alleged that the chief minister was spreading lies and misinformation. Dhanakhade has termed Banerjee's allegations against him as a response to the questions he has raised about the issues in his speech which he is to address in the next assembly session.

The governor told reporters that there was not the slightest bit of truth in the allegations made against me by the chief minister. It is unfortunate that they are spreading misinformation and misinterpreting the facts. It is not befitting for the Chief Minister to make such allegations.

Calling Banerjee her younger sister, the governor said that the indictment in which Mamata shone my name should be named. My name is not associated with any of the charges in the Jain hawala case. He claimed that my name was not in any of the documents of the Jain hawala scam.
