Corona covacin vaccine does not contain calf serum: Center

- Claim the use of newborn calf serum

- Calf serum is used only during the process, finally cleaned

New Delhi: A number of misconceptions are being spread about covexine, an important vaccine against corona virus. One of the claims on social media is that the vaccine contains calf serum. However, this claim has been denied by the Central Government.

The Union Ministry of Health has said that the illusion is being spread about the important covacin vaccine against corona. And it is claimed that newborn calf serum has been mixed in the composition of this vaccine. This claim is false and distorted. Newborn calf serum is used only for the preparation and growth of taxonomic cells. The serum of such animals is a human breeding ingredient. Which is used globally for the development of hero cells.

These hero cells are used to establish cell life. Which is helpful in the production of vaccines. This technique is used to develop vaccines against polio, rabies and influenza. Viro cells are often cleaned with water as well as chemicals after growth. This process eventually removes the calf serum from the viro cells. This means that it is used only as part of the procedure but does not survive in the vaccine.
