China's imports, exports increase while corona recession around the world

(PTI) Beijing, Ta. 7

May saw a surge in Chinese imports and exports as the US and other markets improved due to the weakening of the corona. China's exports, imports and economic growth are growing at a time when economic activity has slowed in most countries due to the corona.

According to data released by Customs, China's exports in May grew by 3 per cent year-on-year and imports in May by 31 per cent year-on-year.

In the first five months of this year, exports grew by 30 per cent over the same period last year. This is an increase of 3% over the same period in 2016.

China's exports in May stood at 4.5 billion. In May, China's imports stood at ૮ 313.5 billion. China's total trade surplus in May stood at 6.5 billion. Which is 4.5 per cent less than the previous year.

However, according to some economists, China's exports in May were lower than expected. The reason behind this is attributed to the decline in port activities in the South China Sea due to the Corona.
