MUMBAI: The world market for cryptocurrencies saw a slowdown today. In the US, the dollar index rose sharply in the world market after the Federal Reserve signaled the first interest rate hike, but the prices of cryptocurrencies were showing an overall retreat today, market sources said.

Meanwhile, El Salvador recently requested the World Bank to provide us with technical assistance-guidance for Bitcoin. However, news came today that the World Bank had turned down El Salvador's request.

Meanwhile, the price of Bitcoin today touched a high of 39 39721 to 7 39722 followed by a low of 13 38131 to 13 38132 and a low of 7 38770 to 7 38771. Bitcoin today had a trading volume of થી 37-38 billion and a market cap of 72 726-727 billion, market sources said.

Prices of other cryptocurrencies were also on an overall decline today with narrow fluctuations. Ether prices were today at a high of 24 2461 to ઉ 2462 and a low of 23 2352 to 5 2353 from 7 2378 to 7 2379. Ether today saw a volume of 26 26 billion to તથા 27 billion and a market cap of થી 276 to 7 277 billion, down from 0 280 billion to 5 285 billion.
