Appointment of Indian students at the American Embassy resumed

The issuance of visa interview slots will start from today

Prioritizing applications from India, working towards making decisions on applications in July-August

New Delhi: The US Embassy in India will start making appointments on Indian student visa applications from June 14 today. A senior US embassy official said it was a priority to get an appointment as soon as possible for visa applications from India, especially student applications.

We are working towards giving these students an appointment as soon as possible so that a decision on the applications can be taken in July or August. Don Hefflin, Minister Counselor for Consular Affairs at the US Embassy in India, says students who previously studied in the United States are no longer required to provide proof of covid vaccination to students who are about to return to complete their studies.

They just need to report Natra negative covid. The number of students seeking further study in the US is very high in India but they have not been able to get an appointment for a visa due to the Kovid epidemic.

The embassy will start offering slots for visa interviews from 14th. "We are aware of the concerns and eagerness of the students and their families," said Don Hefflin.

We are working towards giving priority to all applications so that decisions on applications can be taken by July-August. Preference is now being given to students who have dropped out of studies and whose term starts from 1st August. These students will be able to travel to Pum America 30 days before the start of the term.
