Center ready to resume dialogue with farmers, agitation should be summed up: Agriculture Minister's appeal

New Delhi: Seven months have passed since the farmers' agitation against the central government's agricultural laws on June 26. In the midst of this situation, the peasant leaders have now announced that the movement will be made more widespread, nationwide and fierce in the coming days.

As part of which 25 lakh farmers with four lakh tractors will take to the streets and surround the central government with their demands, the announcement was made by farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, who has become the face of the movement.

Rakesh Tikait said that two big rallies would be held by the farmers on July 9 and 24 next month. With four lakh tractors, 25 lakh farmers and other citizens will also join. The yatra will start from Shamli on July 9 and reach Delhi's Singhu border.

The second yatra will start on July 24 from Bijnor to Meerut to the Ghazipur border in Delhi. "This peasant movement is not for a few days or months, our preparation is to run the movement for 43 months," Tikait said in another announcement.

Until our demands are met, our movement will not be consolidated but will become stronger. Farmers will not bow to the government at any cost and will stand firm on their demands for legal recognition of support prices in addition to repealing agricultural laws. Today, farmers across the country are protesting against the Centre's agricultural laws.

Tikait challenged that this government should not be permanent but the farmer should be permanent in this country. The situation today is that farmers with small land like 10 acres are forced to do labor as they are not getting support price. Rakesh Tikait also announced plans to encircle the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh next year.

"I will not contest the elections but I will continue to oppose the BJP on the issue of farmers," he said. These elections will be held on the issue of farmers, not Hindus or Muslims. Villagers are dying of corona, farmers are not getting support prices. The return of power will be announced.

On the other hand, on June 26, seven months after the farmers' agitation, farmers surrounded the Governor's residence Sruthan Raj Bhavan in various states across the country. The movement had a far-reaching effect in Haryana and Punjab. A large number of farmers had gathered outside the Raj Bhavan, following which the already deployed police fired batons and water cannons as well as tear gas.

"Several farmers and leaders who took to the streets in Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Karnataka and other states to protest have been detained by the police and we are demanding their release," the United Kisan Morcha said.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar, on the other hand, appealed to the farmers to end the agitation. At the same time, the government is ready for talks again after the farmers announced to intensify the agitation. The farmers also submitted their demands in a letter to President Ramnath Kovind.

Pak's infamous ISI conspiracy to incite violence in farmers' movement: report

Melimurad inciting farmers to spread violence, security likely to be beefed up where agitation intensifies

New Delhi: Pakistan's spy agency ISI is keeping an eye on the resurgent peasant movement, a report has claimed.

The report cites reports from intelligence agencies that the ISI is plotting to incite violence in the peasant movement. As a result, security has been beefed up at the agitation sites and rally routes. The agencies have alerted the Delhi Police and CISF after the report came to light. It has been claimed that Pakistan's spy agency ISI could incite the farmers to violence.

However, no explanation has been given as to how the ISI will provoke the farmers. On June 26, farmers staged nationwide demonstrations for seven months of the agitation. Meanwhile, a letter was sent to the Delhi Police and intelligence agencies. Security was beefed up by Delhi Police after receiving the letter.

Some metro stations were also closed for a few hours on Saturday for security reasons. Earlier, when the peasant movement was at its peak, there were reports that the peasant movement could be hijacked and provoked by Khalistan supporters. There were also incidents of violence during the farmers' tractor parade on January 26.
