When people were struggling for treatment, there was no option but to cancel the IPL: Nasir Hussain

New Delhi, May 5, 2021

Former England captain and commentator Nasir Hussain feels that the Indian board had no choice but to skip the IPL following Corona's transition.

Nasir Hussain said that the players could not ignore the situation in India. Yes, they were giving their support and donations but in the current situation, the only way was to postpone the IPL.

Hussein wrote in his column in a British newspaper that even the cricketers' biobubbles had cracked. Cricketers are not stupid or insensitive either. They could also see on TV how people were begging for hospital beds. On the one hand, there is a shortage of ambulances and on the other hand, ambulances are kept out of the field for them. Cricketers may also be wondering whether it is appropriate to play cricket. This situation was very uncomfortable for them.

Hussain said the IPL needed to be held in the UAE like in 2020. Organizing the IPL in India was a big mistake. Last year there were a few cases of Corona in the UAE but it did not affect the planning of the IPL.
