The government should make the vaccine formula public, other companies should also make vaccines: Kejriwal

New Delhi, May 11, 2021, Tuesday

While vaccines are currently the only way to prevent coronavirus infections, vaccination campaigns in India are not going as fast as they should, due to a shortage of vaccines.

With many states experiencing shortage of vaccines, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has suggested that in order to speed up the vaccination program, the formula for making vaccines should be made public so that other companies can make vaccines and vaccines can be made available in the market. The vaccine should be ordered.

Kejriwal said that cases of corona are declining in Delhi. While the lockdown has been successful, there is no shortage of ICUs and oxygen beds in Delhi. At present, 1.25 lakh people are being vaccinated every day. There is currently a shortage of vaccine doses. Currently, only two companies in the country make vaccines and they produce seven to eight million doses a month. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the production of vaccines at the war level. This war cannot be won unless every Indian is vaccinated.

He said a number of companies should be hired to produce the vaccine.
