Supreme Court forms task force on oxygen and drug distribution

The country is currently experiencing a shortage of oxygen amidst the Corona ordeal. People in most of the states of the country are facing shortage of oxygen and essential medicines. High courts of various states have already slapped the state government and the central government in this regard. Now the Supreme Court has come to the fore on this issue. The central government has taken an important decision today regarding the shortage of oxygen and medicines in the country. The court today constituted a 12-member national task force to distribute drugs and oxygen.

The 12 members of this task force are as follows,

1. Dr. Bhabatosh Vishwas, Former Chancellor - West Bengal University of Science, Kolkata

2. Dr. Devendra Singh Rana, Chairman - Management Board, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi

3. Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairperson and Executive Director, Narayan Healthcare Bangalore

4. Dr. Gagandeep Kang, Professor, Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu

5. Dr. JV Peter, Director - Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu

6. Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director, Medanta Hospital and Heart Institute, Gurugram

7. Dr. Rahul Pandit, Director Critical Care Medicine & ICU, Fortis Hospital, Mulund

8. Dr. Soumitra Rawat, Chairman and President, Department of Surgical Gastroenterology and Liver Transplant, Sir Gangaram Hospital

9. Dr. Shivkumar, Senior Professor and Director, Department of Hepatology, Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Delhi

10. Dr. Jarir F. Udwadia, Consultant Chest Physician, Hinduja Brichkendi, and Parsi General Hospital, Mumbai

11. Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India

12. The coordinator of the National Task Force will also be a member. Who will be a Cabinet Secretary level official in the Central Government.

The court said in its order that the task force would be free to consult and consult with the human resources department of the central government for consultation and instruction. The force will also be free to make separate efforts in its own way to work. The Supreme Court has also announced the names of 12 members of the 12-member Organized National Task Force.
