Supreme Court asks government to consider lockdown, members of Covid Taskforce also demand complete lockdown

New Delhi, Ta. May 3, 2021, Monday

The Supreme Court has asked the Center and state governments to consider a lockdown to curb the second wave of Corona virus in the country. The Supreme Court asked the governments to consider imposing a lockdown to curb the second wave for public welfare. The court also asked the government to ensure the economic and social impact of the lockdown before it is imposed. Special arrangements will also be made for those affected by the lockdown.

In view of the seriousness of the second wave of corona virus, the apex court took cognizance of it and said that even if a patient does not have a local identity card or ID proof of the state and union territory, he should be treated in a hospital. He cannot be denied admission to the hospital and given the necessary medicine.

So the government has also been recommended by members of the Covid Task Force to implement a lockdown. Members of the Covid Task Force have written a letter to the central government saying a lockdown is needed to break the Corona virus chain. Given the seriousness of the second wave, the country has demanded a full 15-day lockdown. These members of the Covid Task Force have been demanding a lockdown for a week.

Then the central government may decide on the lockdown today. The Covid Task Force includes members from AIIMS and ICMR. Experts believe the chain needs to be broken to reduce the current death toll.
