Nine BJP workers killed, women being raped in post-poll violence in Bengal: BJP spokesperson

New Delhi, May 4, 2021, Tuesday

The BJP has made a shocking allegation that the violence that erupted after the announcement of election results in West Bengal was sponsored by the state government.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that the party has formed with the workers who have been victims of violence in West Bengal and the party president has reached Bengal to meet the BJP workers.

The BJP has alleged that attacks are being carried out targeting BJP workers in the state. So far, nine workers have been killed. The BJP will hold a nationwide protest on May 5 against the violence. Violence continues after the result. Our activists are calling us to save us. Whatever is happening is happening with the backing of the state government. If 2.28 crore Bengalis have voted for us, they also have no right to choose any ideology? Will the TMC government in Bengal take a hard line on him because he has voted for the BJP?

"We are with the activists in the midst of the atrocities taking place in Bengal. Mumtaz herself is a woman and if you call yourself a daughter of Bengal, the way girls are being beaten and raped," she said. Should this kind of transaction happen?

"Even Mumtaz's appeal for peace yesterday seemed to be an act of poisoning," Patra said.
