The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Uttarakhand has sent a Rs 1,000 crore defamation notice to yoga guru Baba Ramdev. The notice asked Baba Ramdev to release a video clarifying his controversial statement and apologize in writing to the IMA within 15 days. It has also threatened to file a defamation suit worth Rs 1,000 crore if it is not done.

"Baba Ramdev does not even know the 'A' of allopathy, we are ready to answer his questions but first state his merits," the IMA said in the notice. If Baba does not apologize within 15 days, a defamation suit of Rs 1,000 crore will be filed against him, the notice said.

IMA Uttarakhand writes, “Ramdev is constantly spreading lies to sell his drugs. He said that he has tried his medicines in our hospitals, we asked the names of those hospitals but he could not say because he has not tried. People are also angry with Baba for making such remarks against doctors.

The IMA said that Ramdev was also announcing the side effects of the vaccine on TV to sell his drugs. They are making a haphazard statement against Pathi and the doctors associated with her. If the government does not take action against him under the Epidemic Act, the IMA will file a case against him in Haridwar.
