Former Tehelka magazine editor Tarun Tejpal acquitted in rape case for eight years

The ongoing rape case against former Tehelka magazine editor Tarun Tejpal has been relieved. Juvenile by Mapusa Court of Goa on Friday morning after eight years

Tejpal's case has been decided and he has been acquitted in the sexual harassment case. Goa police had filed a 2,700-page chargesheet, including statements from more than 150 witnesses, including the plaintiff.

What is the charge

Tarun Tejpal, the founding editor of Tehelka magazine, which came under discussion after the sting operation, was accused of rape in 2013 by a young woman working in Tehelka. The plaintiff had alleged against the former editor of Tehelka that Tehelka's annual program 'Think Fest' was held in Goa on November 7 and 8, 2013. Junior was sexually assaulted at the time. The event was attended by politicians, Bollywood, sports and international celebrities. The woman who accused Tejpal of misconduct is also the daughter of Tejpal's former co-worker.

What statement did the woman make
In a statement to Goa police, the woman said, "Before I could understand anything, Tejpal started pressing some buttons in the elevator, then the elevator did not stop and the door did not open." In this closed elevator, young Tejpal forced himself with me. Tehelka's life was horrified after this allegation.

Tehelka Magazine was launched as a website in the year 2000. It made a comeback in 2003.
