Corona patients also have to spend millions of rupees for treatment in private hospitals. However, when it comes to paying for a mediclaim, many have the experience of being insured by insurance companies.

On the other hand, many patients with mild symptoms of corona are treated at home. For such patients, the government urged insurance companies to also cover the treatment of people undergoing treatment at home under the Mediclaim. However, insurance companies are adopting a different policy for home quarantine people. Under home treatment, if a patient claims insurance, he is getting only 10 to 50 per cent.

According to an English newspaper report, insurance companies are not settling such claims properly. Corona, on the other hand, has so far received 14.8 lakh claims from insurers. In 83 per cent of these cases, a mediclaim settlement has been reached and in 17 per cent, the settlement is still pending. About 2.5 lakh cases are under consideration before insurance companies. So far, people in the country have claimed Rs 22,955 crore for corona treatment. Of these, claims worth Rs 11,794 crore have been sanctioned and claims worth Rs 11,161 crore are pending. As many as 57000 cases have also been rejected.

As far as home treatment is concerned, insurance companies approve an average claim of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 for patients.
