New Delhi, 31 May 2021 Monday

Industry Chamber FICCI (FICCI) has written a letter to the government seeking cancellation of the 12th exam in view of the current state of the corona epidemic, saying the current situation is not suitable for the exam.

In a letter to Union Human Resources Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, FICCI chairman Uday Shankar said an alternative system should be adopted for academic progress.

He said that avoiding examinations would affect not only the students seeking admission in local educational institutions but also the students aspiring for admission in higher education institutions abroad.

He said, "The number of cases of corona in the country is still very high. Such a situation is not suitable for exams. But due to lack of infrastructure, it is impractical to take online exams. With that in mind, FICCI strongly appeals for the cancellation of the exams.

He said the CBSE should allow schools to give marks to students on the basis of various tests and examinations conducted throughout the year.
