Central government to supply 700 metric tonnes of oxygen to Delhi by any means: High Court

New Delhi, 4 May 2021 Tuesday

The Delhi High Court has once again lashed out at the Center, saying that 700 metric tonnes of oxygen supply should be provided to Delhi at any cost, and also asked why the High Court should not be treated with contempt if the order is not complied with. Come?

"There is a Supreme Court order, and now we are also saying that the central government should somehow supply 700 metric tonnes of oxygen to Delhi every day," the High Court said in an oral comment. The Supreme Court had on April 30 issued a similar order to the Center.

"You can hide your head in the sand like an ostrich, but we can't," the court told the Center on the lack of oxygen in the treatment of Kovid-19 patients.

"Every day we see the grim reality that people do not get oxygen or ICU beds in hospitals. The number of beds has also come down due to low gas supply," the court said. But as we are seeing, we cannot close our eyes.
