Kolkata, Ta. 5 May 2021, Wednesday

BJP workers are being targeted in West Bengal after the election results were declared. Assam Minister Hemat Biswa Sarma has claimed that BJP workers are now taking refuge in Assam following the violence in Bengal.

He said in a tweet on Tuesday that in a tragic development, about 400 Bengal BJP workers had stayed with their families in Ghubri in Assam. He has taken refuge in Assam after crossing the border due to violence and atrocities in Bengal. We are providing shelter and food to all. Mamata Didi must stop the naked dance of violence taking place in a democracy. Bengal deserves a better position.

Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission has ordered an inquiry into the Bengal violence. The Center has already asked the state government to submit a report on the violence. The BJP today also announced a nationwide protest against the violence.

Also yesterday, the BJP alleged that 11 BJP workers have been killed so far in the violence in Bengal and women have also been raped by TMC goons.
